A Heart of Humility: Tam's Story of Servant Leadership

During one of our worship services, the technical team encountered a misunderstanding that led to a technical flaw in the online service. As the service concluded, Sister Teri and Tam were discussing the issue backstage. What struck me was Tam’s proactive approach: he voluntarily sought out Achi to understand what had gone wrong and to accept correction.
When I asked Tam why he took this initiative, he replied, “If you know you didn’t understand something or made a mistake, you should be the one to fix it.” His words resonated deeply, reminding me of Proverbs 15:32, which says, “Those who disregard discipline despise themselves, but the one who heeds correction gains understanding.”
Tam’s actions exemplify the true servant heart that is essential in our ministry. He demonstrated humility and courage by embracing correction with the desire to improve and become better, all for the love of Jesus. His story encourages us to reflect on when we last sought correction and discipline, and when we last took the effort to lovingly correct others.
In our ministry, we serve and move with the love of Jesus Christ as our foundation. Tam’s story reminds us of the importance of having a humble and courageous heart, one that is open to correction and growth, and always seeks to serve with love.
