“When you can’t see the bottom of the crisis, focus on making the best decision for now. Do not worry about forever.” That’s one of my favorite quotes from Carey Nieuwhof, one of the leading voices in Christian leadership today.
That’s what we’re asking God to guide us with: To do what’s best for now and totally depend on Him for the future because everything is volatile now. There’s no “new normal” yet. Yesterday’s normal is different from today’s and it will be different again tomorrow.
Meanwhile, we see how God moves and He’s amazing. Last year, when we had our church annual planning, nobody expected our world to be turned upside down this way. But God, in His grace and mercy steered us to online Worship Services, Midweek Family Prayers, Dawn Prayers, Life Essentials, Devotionals, Quick Share Evangelism, Deaf Ministry, Life Groups, Men’s, Women’s, Young Adults and Youth Fellowships, AWANA Kids and more. On August 10-14, 2020, we’ll have our first ever online Daily Vacation Bible School for Kids! The Board and Elders also work hard online. We are on quarantine but God’s work continues!
We just finished our 61st Anniversary celebration and I trust that the meditations of our heart and our activities honored God. Thank you to the hard work of the Anniversary committee composed of CCBC staff and volunteers, including the behind-the scenes-team led by Myra Bansale, Chris Tarroja, and Jun Drirecto.
It was a big job to reconnect with CCBCers from different parts of the world and ask them to take the time to prepare a message or testimony or music, record it themselves and then send it to us at a certain deadline, all for the love of God and CCBC.
Thank you very much to the CCBCers from the Philippines, USA, Canada, New Zealand, Thailand and Hongkong!

One of the main things that struck me from their messages was how much God used CCBC to mold them in their life and ministry.
And so my dear CCBC family, let’s continue to hang on. Let’s help each other. God is at work and He’s doing more than what we can see. Amidst the stress and hustle of our days, let’s all make sure that we become Christ-like and always trust and obey Him. Our loving, powerful God is writing the story of our lives and He isn’t done yet.

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”Philippians 4:6-7
