Kaagapay Outreach Ministry
The Kaagapay Ministry is part of the Outreach and Missions Ministry of CCBC. It started through the vision that every member is a disciple-maker and every leader a shepherd and ministry happens wherever CCBCers are. One of our women leaders in the person of Sis. Connie Esguerra is working as the Chief Officer of the QC Parole and Probation Office No.2 and she was challenged toward the realization of the vision. She invited us to visit her office at the basement of the QCDOJ and be a resource person in the Therapeutic Community gathering of all their clients. Praise God because that was the beginning of how we reach out these marginalized people in our city.
After so much praying and planning, the ministry was adapted by CCBC and a team was formed to minister regularly in their Therapeutic Community or TC. We shared the Gospel to more than 500. Every month new clients were added to the program and every month We process them through small groups using reflective questions. And through the effort of our CCBC Volunteers, we developed a strong relationship among their leaders. We signed a MOA for partnership and we Praise God for that.
The name Kaagapay is a tagalog word which means to assist with care. The Parolees and Probationers are both convicted yet they have given the chance to enjoy temporary release as ordered by the court. Dealing with Parolees and Probationers is considered as specialized ministry. With that, our main task is to assist those people who has the capacity and authority to deal with these people as mandated by the government.
